Obama to target Pakistan

In what seems to be perhaps the most logical step being taken or even considered by the US, Barack Obama says he would target Pakistan if he becomes the president.

But Obama, who also promised to use diplomacy to end Iran's nuclear program and renew US alliances, promised to switch the focus of US military action overseas from Iraq, to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This is great news, as someone finally is looking at the right way towards the whole Al-Qaeda issue.

Taking the war to Pakistan is perhaps the most foolish thing America can do. Pakistan has 160 million Arabs and a nuclear arsenol. Pakistan also has the support of China. The last thing the United States should do at this point and time is to violate yet another state’s sovereignty.

Al-Qaeda's operations are mostly run from Pakistan and there are lots of Al-Qaeda supporters in Pakistan itself. He is not talking about a war in Pakistan, that is the last thing we in India want. He is talking about targeting Al-Qaeda, there is a difference.
